Grant and tender writing services

I receive a lot of requests to write grant applications and tenders. Please read the following FAQs and if you're still happy to go ahead, I'd love to hear from you. Where can I find grants and tenders? What experience do you have? Can I hire you to write my grant application or tender? How much do you charge? Can you write my grant application/tender for free and I'll pay you if I win? What's included in your fee? Can you search for grants for me? Can you review a draft application that I've written myself? Do you run training courses in how to write grants and tenders?
Where can I find grants and tenders?
Most common question! Check out this list of websites where you can search for grants and tender opportunities. If you would like me to search for grants and tenders for you, there will be a cost for my time - please contact me for a quote.
What experience do you have?
I've written successful grants and tenders on a large and small scale, from million-dollar government tenders to small community grants. Read more about my grant/tender writing experience and view testimonials. Happy to provide referees if you wish. I've seen the grants and tender process from both sides, having been an applicant and the person assessing the applications. I bring additional knowledge and skills that enhance grant and tender writing, e.g. financial management, project management, program evaluation, corporate governance. Read more about my experience and background.
Can I hire you to write my grant application or tender?
Yes, if you can answer YES to ALL of the following statements:
  • I’ve already found a grant or tender I want to apply for, OR I'd like to hire you to search for grants. Here's a list of where to find grants to get you started.
  • For grants – I’ve got a specific idea about what I want to spend the grant money on.
  • For tenders – I have all the required business policies, insurances, financial statements etc. Check out this one-pager for more info.
  • I’m prepared to spend money to hire a professional grant/tender writer.
  • I’m willing to meet agreed deadlines for providing information to help write the application.

Do I really have to say yes to all of those things? Yes. Many people underestimate the amount of work that goes into a successful grant application. Grants are not free money that can be gained just by filling out an application form. Tenders are even more work. If you’re serious about getting grant funding or submitting tenders, I’d love to help you. However, it’s going to take time and effort – from both of us!

How much do you charge?
I charge an hourly rate based on how complex the grant application or tender is, and how much work is required to complete it. I provide you with a written quote so you can see exactly how much it will cost before I start work.
To give you the most accurate quote, I will need to look at the grant or tender you want to apply for. Upfront payment of the full amount will be required. An additional ‘rush fee’ will apply for grants or tenders with less than 2 weeks notice.
Can you write my grant or tender for free and I’ll pay you if I win?
Unfortunately this is not an arrangement I can enter into. Firstly, there are lot of factors behind the scenes when grants and tenders are being assessed that are outside my control and yours. Secondly, many grants have a rule that says the money can’t be used to pay a grant writer.
What’s included in your fee?
  • A discussion with you at the start of the process to gather information and agree on deadlines.
  • Writing of the grant application or tender documents, including two rounds of revisions. Further revisions will incur an additional charge.
  • Collation of supporting documents, attachments etc.
  • Help with putting together the budget if needed.
  • Online submission of the application, unless you prefer to do it yourself.
  • A copy of all the application documents for you to keep for future reference.
  • Help with getting feedback on your application from the funding body or the tender customer if needed.

Can you search for grants for me?
Yes. First, I will work with you to develop a 'wish list' of what you want to use the grant money for. Second, I'll go searching for grants that match what you're looking for. Third, I'll give you a list of available grants and you can decide which ones you want to pursue. If you'd like me to write the grant applications for you, I'll provide you with a specific quote for each one, as all grants are different. Please contact me for a quote to search for grants.
Can you review a draft application or tender that I’ve written myself?
Yes. Please contact me for a quote.
Do you run training courses in how to write grants and tenders?
Yes. I run regular public workshops and I can provide in-house training for your workplace, community group, sports club, etc. Read more on our grants/tenders training page. You might like these 5-minute training videos I created for Volunteering North Queensland.
"Working with Renee on two government tenders was a smooth, enjoyable experience for our team. We met with her a few times and provided the raw information and data, and Renee turned it into professional but easy to read responses. The end result was two highly professional tenders that we were proud to submit and confident that we had done the best job we could."

CEO, Community Gro
"Incredibly knowledgeable and extremely experienced in her role, Renée is my first point of call for anything to do with grants and tenders. Having worked with Renée on a number of occasions, I would have no hesitation recommending her services to anyone."
